Put作动词
除了“摆、放”这个大家熟悉的意思，你知道下面这些含义和用法吗？
1) Put: 说、表达，可以是口头或书面。大家可以理解为摆放语言、文字。
常用的说法有:
Well put: 说得好
Put it in your own words: 用你自己的话来表达 (说或写)
How can I put it? 我要如何开口呢？（常用于要说一些复杂、或对方难接受的内容之前）
2) Put up with: 忍受
Can't put up with someone or something: 无法忍受某人或某事
I really can't put up with the construction noise from my neighbor: 我实在不能忍受邻居家装修的声音。
How long are you going to put up with his unreasonable behavior? 你还要忍耐他这种无理的举动多久？
3) Put down: 放下
We can't seem to put down our phones nowadays: 现在大家似乎都放不下手机。
Unputdownable: 形容词，形容一样东西很有吸引力、放不下来，是那种你能拿在手里的东西，比如一本书写得很精彩，可以说: This book is simply unputdownable.
4) Put on: 呈现、带上（动词）

Put-on: 伪装、造作（形容词)

5) Put off: 与put on一样，也有几个不同的意思
a) 延期、延后

6) Put forward: 提出、摆上、放在众人面前
常用的搭配是“想法、建议、意见”这类抽象的事物

7) Put in(to): 放进去、投入，可以用在具象或抽象事物上
Put your clothes in the closet: 把衣服放进衣橱里。
You need to put more time and effort into your work: 你工作上要多投入时间和努力。
She put a lot of thought into the present: 她买礼物花了很多心思。
